Not unethical. I can look up a Rembrandt painting and see a picture of it online and there's notning unethical about that. It's not the real deal, its not on the canvas in real life, and ai art doesn't do that. Secondly, Artists usually want their art seen, if not and someone posts it against their will that's not the ai's fault, its whoever betrayed the artist and uploaded the art. Saying the ai steals the artists style doesn't make much sense to me either. Multiple artists can have the same style. If I were a phenomenal artist I could make a painting in the style of say Jean-Baptiste, but it wouldn't be as good. And after I made it, someone who is skilled at looking at art may be able to determine my style isnlike Babtiste, but surely wouldn't be mad at me if I didn't reveal I was inspired beforehand. Likewise the ai art isn't the same either, and inspiration need not always be cited. Most importantly, The ai isn't making counterfeit art. It's making unique pictures and often they have tells or its own ai style. Even in the picture rae shows us, her finger is melting. I've got pretry good at determinkng what's ai art and what isn't. Sometimes it's hard to tell but that's the same with alot of artists. the ai does add a sort of ai style to what it makes, i. E. It melts things into stuff, and its bad at consistent texture. Look close enough and you'll find it's flaws.
