Someone needs also to say that we need to be very proactive about the tens of millions of workers in places like India or Philippines, Mexico AND the US (countries with millions of call center jobs) that will suddenly be out of work and hitting the streets causing great political unrest. This will put insane pressure on governments and runs massive risk of increased authoritarianism and wars. Those wars will be AI fueled. Those wars will be inflamed by AI deep fakes, of which we already have plenty, such as the faker in the White House. This does not bode well unless we get out in front of it with worldwide cooperation and guard rails. UBI will become a thing whether or not anyone wants to admit it. But is that what we want for society to flourish? People want meaningful work and self development. What will that look like? We will likely end up punishing the dispossessed rather that the ones who caused this nightmare scenario. You think we have class war now? Ha! Hold my beer!
