Came here to listen to what you say, stayed to watch you draw while speaking. Anyways what I wanted to say is, I love tech, I like coding, making silly games, 3d models, screwing around with shaders n particle effects, + drawing / sketching ofc (even if I'm not that good at it). Once upon a time I used to enjoy doing was building my own AIs which I started to do as a preteen. But now after the hype started? That hobby is just gone and I almost feel ashamed of it. I don't use "modern" AIs, maybe once a month I'll try to screw with a chatbot for a few minutes but that's all. When this all started, I did try to find some practical use cases in the first few months and failed to. The deeper I look, the more useless it feels. AIs just can't compete with a properly studied and mastered skill. Then I got the strange feeling this whole thing feels like a sham, all the marketing, the totally impractical "products", and how everyone just promotes it so I looked deeper. Ended up listening to what everyone says (which is overwhelming for me cuz I have trouble when people argue about stuff). After a lot of thoughts, studying how "modern" AIs are made, understanding and experimenting on their internal structure. I've ended up coming to the conclusion that unless there's a genius breakthrough, AI is headed towards a total dead end and will seriously struggle - if it gets there at all that is. There's a good chance laws will clamp down or the bubble pop when the investors finally realize they all got swindled. At first I used to be scared and concerned cuz people said I should be and I didn't wanna ignore it... not anymore. I'm just gonna keep learning how to draw, keep making silly things manually, maybe even try to build my own AIs again like I used so I can put it in a game and watch it run into a wall a million times before it learns to walk. I'll keep it all private at least until the hype die down, because for me - its a hobby, a fun thing to do and that's where it should stop. Maybe I am a bit too childish and naive but well.. that's just who I am and maybe it's about time I embrace it. I don't wanna be productive, I wanna live and do silly things cuz that's me. Maybe just maybe, there are others like me too...
