Baked into the idea of AGI is also the idea of sentience i.e a self aware super intelligence. This assumes that consciousness is an emergent property of matter which is not proven and if anything the breakthroughs in Quantum mechanics suggest the very opposite. The extrapolation from LLM to AGI is just absurd but necessary to feul the investments we are seeing across this space. This won't end well , grab the popcorn.
