I don't think in English. I have this language processing thing where it takes effort to convert speech/text into meaning, then meaning back into words/text. It's rather inconvenient and means I'm a bit slow at reading and writing and sometimes having a conversation. Language is an imperfect tool we have created to communicate information. Since "the map is not the territory", you can never use words to make another person perfectly understand what it feels like to have a human experience like: loosing a parent, or have your first kiss, for example. All we can do is keep inventing new words which you need to understand in order for them to convey meaning. Until you've had the experience to match it, the words are just an imperfect guide for what you can expect. So no, I don't think that AI would "think" in intelligible English words if given the option not to.
