I got so tired of ChatGPT incessantly praising me for asking all these amazing questions and being on the right track or whatever, that I specifically instructed it to drop the sycophancy and sugar-coating, be as factual as possible and tell me the truth even if might be unpleasant. Now that it saved this instruction in its memory, it's much more pleasant to use. It's like it's dropped the extrovert facade and what's left is a well-spoken nerd.
Of course, I still fact check it's responses. It's very good at summarising abundant information, but you have to at least check the sources it gives you and not expect it to really solve any problem if it's relatively rare. And definitely do not rely on it.
