While it is sad that we have to resort to deterrents for art theft like this, I am happy to see that security is being made for this kind of issue. While I myself am pro AI, I am not pro theft. I am not happy with the fact that artists are being scraped and that their talents are being used for training data without compensation, at least none that are publicly known. I do believe that there are more ethical ways to get training data for Ai, like licensing agreements between AI companies and artists, so that the training data can be sourced ethically and the artists will be paid for the use of their styles. This isn't limited to drawn art either, voice actors like myself and writers as well as many other forms of art. There are many great uses for AI like you had mentioned, like when used for assistance in the medical field and other use cases like Steve Mould using it to repair the audio in a video. He could've easily done a voice over but he wanted to include the sound of the life sized pop-pop boat he was riding and recover his voice in those shots. That's a good use for AI. It is understandable why AI gets a bad rap, especially when it comes to the creative space. I hope that this will help push Ai companies in a better direction and bring a more mutually beneficial future. This is the wild west of this kind of tech, so it's not like change can't happen and guidelines can't be put in place for this kind of issue.
