As a casual programmer who has used these tools over the past year, you soon learn that AI left to its own devices is going to create spaghetti code all over the place that will take hours to debug when things stop working as they should, and they will stop working.
Now, I keep it to simple functions that it can produce in a matter of seconds, but then I still go through the code, line by line, commenting as necessary, in order to make sure that I understood what it is doing and how it does it, and that it actually does only what I asked it to do.
Any other way and you're in for a world of pain.
