I've worked in the IT industry for a bit over 20 years, and I've recently started using AI at work (ChatGPT). It is an impressive tool: so long as I can articulate a complete code specification, it can write working code surprisingly well. It is not nearly as good at debugging non-working code, but it is still a great tool. It does not have creativity or intuition, but it can chew through huge amounts of data lightning-fast. I was only able to interpret data for troubleshooting if I selectively chose what data it looked at. I can make mistakes - some a human would never make - for instance, one mistake: the AI confused past with future. That said, it is such a good tool, I think everyone in my industry is going to need to learn how to use it.
