What’s really to “know”? The schools waste so much time with the kids in their classes. Literally waste. Kids can finish assignments so quickly. I promise it doesn’t take long. They waste time doing projects that literally will make no difference in the long run. Have the kids build a model for a sustainable city? My kid built building out of paper. This was a science assignment. What a freakin waste of time. I watch my kids try to do their math (they do very well at math) but it takes twice the time and effort because instead of a piece of paper the assignment is online and the computer isn’t cooperating. Waste.
Read. Narrate. Write and narrate.
Do the work simply. get it done. go play - build life skills. Please freakin innovate the school system it’s a joke. And then they figure they just need to add more time and more facts to succeed. So they never teach the kids “how” to think … only exactly “what” to think.
Thankfully we discuss and debate a lot and talk a lot at home.
