Saying 'when is AI going to be conscious' is like saying 'when will we know when this car can fly'. It's a stupid question, we are no closer to conscious 'AI' or 'AI' itself than we were 100 years ago. It's an algorithm, a very good one but its not conscious or intelligent and never will be.
