AI is little more than a toy when it comes down to it. People who call themselves artists in any sense of the word when they only use AI are definitely delusional enough to call reddit home. That being said, the people who are like this aren't even "good" at using the ai in general. They lack the ability to observe or refine anything and just post whatever shitty thing vaguely came close to what they wanted. As AI progresses, it's use becomes more and more obvious to anyone with a discerning eye because each and every different AI model produces uniquely predictable results. At best, it may be useful as a conceptualizing tool but it can never produce what could rightly be called interesting art. The human element cannot be beaten. AI is a one trick pony when you actually learn how it works and what kind of things it makes. Perhaps this could change in the future, but the endgame will always be boring repetition occasionally revitalized by scraping the leftovers of human creation like a bottom feeder. I say this not to disparage AI, it's just what I've noted with the experience I have.
