Yeah generative AI is super cringe but PLEASE don’t fool yourself into thinking that just because something is done manually it’s automatically art, it’s not.
The disabled ”artist” that you interviewed is doing exactly the same thing that AI does. She takes an existing photo of a real person and then regurgitates that into some vile composition contributing with nothing of value herself. It’s basically AI with extra steps but way, WAY worse. This person is literally hiding behind the fact that she’s disabled to excuse how horrendous her deviantart-esque creations are.
And before someone even thinks of crying ableism let me stop you right there before you commit the same sin as the tech bros defending AI with arguments regarding disabled people. Her ”art” is NOT slop because she’s disabled, it’s being judge on its own merit as there are highly skilled disabled artist out there, however SHE IS NOT ONE OF THEM
