You don't need big tech and AI to make your neighbourhoods safer, you just need an economy that actually pays people a livable wage and non-monopolized industries that aim for hyper-efficiency at the expense of killing every other free enterprise around them allowing for total industry control and also putting downward pressure on wages. These corporations are the ones using their leverage over industry regulators and politicians to create shittier outcomes for the majority and then they have the audacity to say they're helping to make things better through surveillance? Fuck off!
