to see what AI is going to do, i think all we need to do is look at our own past --- at some point in the distant past, our ancestors were concerned ONLY about surviving and procreation. To the point of doing anything to do accomplish these goals. And just because an AI seems to be simulating fear, i don't see how you can just say that it's not "real" --- perhaps he's right and it's not, but at some point it IS going to be real, if it isn't already. And fear is the engine driving survival. We have good reason to worry about our future with AI involved, and at the same time, millions of years into the future, perhaps AI is the only thing that could possibly remain of us. So it's potentially both good and bad (ironically, just like regular humans). And utterly incredible that it's all happening so fast.
