Unpopular opinion, maybe—but it needs to be said. I’m not a drawing artist. I’m a martial artist. My creative expression takes a different form. But I’m tired of seeing people like me—people who don’t have the natural gift to draw or the drive to grind out that skill—constantly getting bashed for using AI to bring our visions to life. Some of us can see exactly what we want in our minds, but no matter how hard we try, we can’t translate that onto paper or screen. And we don’t all have the time, money, or luck to find and wait on a commission artist. I should know I’ve hired, fired, lost, and work with dozens over my years I get it—AI is shaking the foundations of traditional art. It’s fast. It’s disruptive. It challenges the blood, sweat, and years you put into developing your craft. And that fear of being replaced? That’s valid. But what’s not valid is gatekeeping creativity. Why judge those of us who just want to create for the joy of it? Why deny someone the tools to express something they couldn’t otherwise bring into the world? Whether I tell a person or a machine to create something based on my vision, the creative spark came from me. And for those of us who’ve had to rely on commissions for years, this moment feels like finally grabbing the reins of our own imagination. AI isn’t replacing human creativity. It’s amplifying it—for everyone. And that should be something to celebrate
