That's crazy because what AI is doing is basically just acting like any normal modern artist would. Set your ego aside and really compare yourselves with AI... are you really better than it? You also took in inputs from different artists (in order to learn how to make your own art). You also mixed them together and add your touch to them in order to make your own art. There are a lot of styles of art and artists themselves are making art pieces that are similar to each other. And you do in fact algorithmically optimize your work to garner larger audiences on the internet, too (ever heard of Hentai artists?). So really, you guys just have a large ego and you don't want to lose money because there's an entity better than you at creating art. Yeah, I'm not an artist, but that makes my opinion closer to objective truth than yours. And that is because an artist would obviously have incentives to reason in such a way as to align with their interests, and their interests only, but non-artists wouldn't. If I argue against the banning of AI, all I'm really doing is making a case based on the obvious objective logical fact that AI is able to make art much quicker but of better quality than most artists, and thus, it shouldn't be banned. That fact in itself can't be disproven, and is also the reason why you guys argue for the banning of it. Isn't it because it can generate images much faster and better than a normal human can? And thus, anyone using it as a tool to make money would be able to make much larger profits than you? Therefore, giving you a competitive disadvantage? If that is the case, then arguing for the banning of AI is just an argument meant to benefit your interests, instead of a valid argument that would benefit everyone else. Wow, yeah, if the AI takes in art samples from different artists as inputs for their neural network, to then produce similar samples as outputs, then what would make it different from any fanartists making fanart animations with characters based on the orignal anime they took inspiration from? Those guys even make their fanart so similar to the anime itself, that if a person doesn't know of the original anime, they would think that the fanart is part of it. So if there's an AI who is better than them at generating art that is heavily inspired by the original work, then why would it be wrong? Other than that it is not a human and doing much better than you... you don't really have any argument to convince me that their practice is much different than yours.
