Another way I like to think about is that tech innovations are meant to make things easier, yes, but to allow for us to do things we enjoy and actually wanna do. Is this the pro AI argument? Yes, but I add to that, think of it in other terms. An actual artist seeing AI images is like a writer seeing Chat.gpt write a novel, a competitive gamer watching a machine play games for them, a baker having a machine bake for them, etc... Art is not a problem to be solved - same goes for all creative endeavors and hobbies of the like, - We create because not only do like seeing the fruits of our labor, but we love the PROCESS of actually putting in the effort and seeing our hard work pay off. A problem with AI is that it goes straight to the product without the care and passion put to make something special and worthwhile.
If you are ok with some ai, but not others (chat.gpt is ok, but not DALLE for example), I like to think of it from the perspectives of those other groups affected by it. That's why I no longer use chat.gpt for art inspiration, or to even summarize things for me anymore.
To be clear, I am no way shaming those who are ok with some AI and not others, - that's fine, I get it - that last part is just a person opinion and choice
