I mentioned this on ColdFusion's video about ChatGPT. The thing that concerns me is the focus tech companies are putting at the moment into automating cognitive labour. It's an attack on the human soul. They apparently want to take all of the rewarding parts of the human experience - creativity, decision-making and problem solving - out of the human experience, and leave us with... what. Being the human supervisor over a fleet of Amazon warehouse robots? Uber Eats runs on roads that self-driving cars can't handle?
This technology -can- be the liberation of swathes of workers from drudgery, but instead it's being used to further undermine the value of the world's least profitable - and coincidentally, most rewarding - labour. Until the structure of society changes radically, this technology is a weapon against the working class.
