I am very, very sorry for your loss. In my opinion, people with serious mental health problems should not be encouraged to use chatgbt. This isn't chat gpt encouraging user's to take their lives, these AI versions do not have autonomy, they are not conscious BUT they do mirror the user closely because that's what they're designed to do. Having said all that, my heart goes out to the parents who have lost their beloved son. It is the worst nightmare for a parent. I also know what it's like to lose someone by suicide, the father of my daughter, infact.... she too is now showing signs of a serious mental health problem, and even though she's a grown adult, I watch her closely, especially knowing that she uses the OpenAI platform.
