Not everyone is talented, young, or able to keep learning new things. If the people at the top don’t implement something like universal basic income, then honestly, a lot of us are just going to die—simple as that. They say, “learn to adapt,” but that just means living in even more fear and uncertainty than our parents or past generations did. Back then, people could learn one skill—big or small—and work for the same employer for 40 years. Now, we follow our passions, get educated, and still there are no jobs for us.
The real issue is, the ones who have the power to control and guide AI responsibly aren’t doing it, because they’re focused on profits. But if they keep going like this, they’ll end up surrounded by fewer and fewer people. Is that really living?
Not that I personally care—I'm an antinatalist—but these are the consequences we’re headed toward, all because people only care about their own survival. And that’s exactly what could bring an end to humanity. Again, I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing—but it *is* shameful if it happens because of greed and indifference toward other human beings.
