I think once you get past Cosmic AI, maybe the term “artificial” won’t make sense. Maybe at some point lifeforms go beyond classification as carbon-based or silicon-based (or whatever). Once the intelligent entities we create become self-replicating and self-programming, they will no more be “artificial” intelligences than humans are “natural intelligences”. They will one day seem as advanced aliens to us.
