My husbands a developer for one of the largest companies (offices in pretty much all major cities around the world). They have been heavily using and trying to force use of AI to "make it easier and quicker". It gets it wrong pretty much 9 times out of 10. My husbands day is now spent going line by line fixing what the AI got wrong and try make the code work. When he quickly could have just written it himself and it have a higher likelihood of working the first time. He also says because he's written it he can locate the error way way quicker had it been code he created. With the AI because he and the other devs didn't write it they really go at snails pace having to look through the code. They are seeing so many super silly errors that the company was so sure the ai was too intelligently trained to make. It actually becomes really embarrassing because often the client can see on their end errors happening. With the client company often placing their own devs on the team my husband is on (the hired devs part of a programming company) and they all working side by side on it. They then ask why the people they hired are making so many mistakes and the work is now becoming delayed and it's like because of the AI writing bunk code. Let's stick to talented devs and leave the ai.
