One aspect that most of these conversation ignores is the "us" that is being talked about. The "us" in that conversation are considerably more intelligent and wise than the majority of humans, the "us" are the best examplars of humanity. AI is already smarter and better at reasoning than the vast majority of humanity.. We are very close to the point when're a tiny minority of humanity, working with AI, can outcompete a large number of humans in "thinking" professions. Even CEOs are on the chopping block.
