I think AI is just going to push us to extremes. If an HR director asks an AI to hire the best people, it's going to analyze the demographics of the company during those years it performed the best, weighting the resumes off of the demographics of the past. It will submit resumes to the HR department that will likely diminish diversity rather than increase diversity, even though diversity is generally the better strategy.
