Difficult topic cause of EMOTIONS. I think as long as it's private use only and not posted blocked whatever (with which I mean offline use or the XYZ P&P character sheet no one but your group mates see). It won't hurt anyone in that sense and even that can be greyish already. I do create digital art myself and yes I am no Sam. Not enough time or discipline... so, I get it, some people don't want to put in the work in learning to get that one style down and it is fun to input some words and the "magical" transformation of your thoughts happen. Yes, I also made some prompts for giggles and boy are they horrendous if you use some low-level AI. But I never posted or used those anywhere. What I found scary in the prompt progress is that just when it got popular I wrote a random prompt and actually ended up with a watermark/signitaure somewhere in the background that was half cut... soooo yeah... that was hilarious and horrific at the same time. But AI is getting better so those tell signs will sadly vanish or already have depending on the AI tool. One of my somewhat daily routines is to check out the "new images" board and just in small view look at pictures and guess what's AI and what is not. And shockingly, even if the pictures are pretty and not having mark remnants in them, it's super obvious what is AI (at the moment). One can truly train the eye. As there often is an option to tag the art as AI generated (which if you use AI should always be checked! Be that honest. If you can take pride in being an AI artists tag it.) What I do hate though is the kind of one prompt adoptable mass production and selling those pictures. Most of the time for like a dollar or so. That's so much money... or an empty comment section....I guess smart. But for me personally it sits wrong for me, but that is only my personal preference. I suck at realistic, I draw characters in cartoon style mostly. So, instead of writing a million prompts that kinda maybe are eventually something like my design. I went out searched for a nice artists who was affordable for me. it doesn't have to be a 3000$ commission for people to be good... There are literally thousands out there that are cheap enough if you save up some allowance and if you already work - just buy less, hmm sweats? Yes, Takes time no question there. And if you search enough you might even find someone in a quality and artstlye that is just a hobbyist and just might draw you a freebe. Truly don't jump on the first horse. Check if they are valid in skill so on. Find someone with whom you have great communication skills and simply commission a piece(s). It's always stunning. The characters look how they're suppote look like. And I get poses I want, the background, colours, scenery, anything... I even ended up with better pictures by inspiring the artist and I liked their idea even more than mine. It's rewarding for them and it feels good and makes me appreahiate the art so much more as I spent money on it and two people got something out of it. (and not me and the company) Truly if you put 1$ aside each day you end up with 365$ you already can get multiple awesome commissions with just that. And in the mean time just draw and improve your skills without pressure. So, my personal advice, if you pay a monthly fee or whatever payment for picture slots, prompt count for an AI tool, (or however it is called in your service) to get better results. Save it up three months use it in a commission and you will have THE picture that is perfect for you IF you did your RESEARCH to find fitting artist. Beliefe me it took me about 5h and I found mine and it wasn't a scam do it while watching something you won'T even waste your life time. If you just do it for giggles or test what AI can do. make a screenshot and show it off to your friends that way just don't endless post things openly on social media and stuff. And I don'T purely say that cause your "stealing" attention. But if there are 200 versions of the same prompt and you post them all those get feeded back into the AI and all pictures become just more like your prompt. and so the AI style looks contentwise more and more the same. If you sell AI art at the very least tag it (which a lot do)... and don't extort kids (there are some fields that seem to have a huge amount of AI pictures and while I do enjoy childhood cartoons... I don't think so many kids are smart enough to sell stuff to other kids....or are legally allowed to) And as a last wish for all who use AI: It'd be so interesting to get the link references for your prompt as some AI tools can be feeded with example pictures post the link of said picture(s) below the AI art. That way it is much more relatable what happened in its AI creation. The picture still will be marvoules (hopefully) but it also will teach where technology currently is. and what the process means. And that ends my late night rambling cause I couldn't fall asleep. Have a great week!
