People who choose "criminal justice" majors in college are taught this thinking from day one, we are hiring power-mad psychopaths as police, and they'll do whatever they're told without thought, by design. Usually poorly. This is the kind of sheriff who'll illustrate why Orwell was a prophet. I'm beyond sick of "back the blue" types who automatically defend everything cops do, they're as much of a problem as the cops and the technology, they facilitate it by tolerating it.
