It makes me sad that I think that AI images could actually be used to make pretty impactful art, but in a similar way that submitting an urinal to an art gallery is art. For example I could imagine swapping out all of the real art in a classical art museum for AI images and that being a pretty haunting experience that could say a lot about the current time, except it wouldn't work because too many people wouldn't get it. Pretty much everyone agrees that an urinal, or a banana of whatever, isn't art, but if you did the same with AI a lot of people would just take it as "ah yes so what you're saying is that AI art is just as good as classical art".
