Winners never quit and quitters never win. He would know this and would know that if AI is so dangerous, he should be responsible for putting in safeguards. Looks like the financial bankers are paying him off to delay the development of AI to delay them from becoming obsolete. Kind of like how car makers paid off fuel cell researchers to delay their downfall (which is now happening anyways with electric vehicles).
