People life to romanticize the benefits of the industrial revolution, but the reality was horrific. For example, read Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle." The degree of labor exploitation is what drove Marx's work. Things only changed when workers forced them to change and even then, those changes were only moderate and have since been largely rolled back. How will the majority of people force AI and its developers and those amassing huge tortures from it to share? The oligarchy is not going to give up its power. They never have.
