Raw LLM Responses

Here's some info on ways AI is affecting people who write fanfiction and post it online. 1) over the past year or so, I've been deluged with people trying to get me to commission AI art for my stories. This is annoying, and no, I'm not going to pay money for AI art when I'm an amateur artist and can make real art any time I like. 2) worse, in the past couple of months someone has set AI to writing extremely nasty but very generic comments on lots of stories. They're obviously AI written if you know what to look for, and even more obviously unconnected to anything in the story. I don't know why someone has set AI to bully fanfiction writers, but it stinks. The writers I know who've had it happen to them have reacted by making fun of the bot or deleting the comment, but I've been writing fanfic for heading for twenty years and I've never seen anything like this. I've had human flames before. Those are different. I worry about new writers who post their first fanfic and get that back as a comment, because they might not know that it has nothing to do with the quality of their writing, or lack of it. ...and, of course, our writing is being scraped for AI, and none of us were asked whether we consented to this. For the record, I don't consent to this, or to having my online visual art or my music scraped for AI either.
