As a writer who use AI heavily in writing book I can confirm you're mostly right. There is a method for giving an LLM worldview and nuance, but you almost have to write more words in prompt to get a good output, and even then if has to be very supervised and edited. I feel like I'm one of the few people putting in the effort to try and make GOOD AI writing, and yeah it's a time saver, but the part you'll still work super hard on is injecting (and being sure it manifests properly) human perspective and meaning. That said, if you do put in that effort, it's a POWERFUL tool, and specifically handles subtext and the integration of symbolism and philosophy, you just have to tell it what to work in. Any time the AI makes the decision entirely for itself you've failed.
