It's REALLY important that the job cuts starting in 2023 were not due to AI hype because tech firms loaded up on those jobs in 2020 as Powell's capital injections boosted the bull market beyond any expectation and once it cooled off, they didn't need that overhead anymore to take advantage of people being more online after the pandemic. AI hype just gave them the excuse with the gold rush hysteria not really rising until late 2024.
