I like the way you put forth your argument. You're calm and collected, and for me that really helps to hear the point that a person is making. I hear what you're saying, and I'm sorry about what happened with those people's reactions. I have attended the Art Institute, majored in Fine Art (elsewhere) at one point, and have done my fair share of visual art in the past, but to be honest, since I noticed people selling AI generated art on Etsy--after that initial anger phase passed--I thought about trying that too. I hadn't yet, but it has been on my list of ideas/things to try. I just wanted you to know that your video has made me decide not to do that--and not for the legal implications but because I didn't know (before) how the AI gets its art. I figured it bases it off of a photo, but I assumed these were all photos of artists who had opted in, or works that are strictly in the public domain. I know now that was erroneous, and I absolutely understand why artists would be upset by this. I don't understand how people could be (I'm sorry but) so stupid as to NOT understand. I am slightly worried that--if it truly is just a stupidity thing--it may not get any better from here. I hope that's not the case, though. Hopefully a majority of the others also maybe just don't know. Truth be told, I had a hard time accepting AI art in the first place--it's not "real" art to me--but had just been feeling a little defeated (you know, a little "if you cant beat em join em" kind of thing). On the other hand, your video just made me think of my daughter and HER art. She is 9 years old, and on days there's no school, she engages in various types of art literally ALL DAY LONG. She is also very good and will probably easily surpass me soon. I've secretly wished she would also take to music like myself, but no, it's art all day long and that is absolutely OK. It is evidently in her to be doing this. She teaches herself EVERYTHING (even though she could ask me lol) but basically, I see It's obviously her passion, and just, I don't want her growing up and not having the joy of knowing what it's like to create a work you are proud of with your own two hands. I don't want that taken away from her. With that said, I guess thank you for grounding me back to how I felt before. I am going to be researching more about how this art is created because it absolutely should bother anybody with half a heart knowing what you have explained. Sorry for the long response.
