Sigh, digital art can't catch a break. Its a medium. Not a hack!
Its like saying someone isnt an artist because they use charcoal instead of oil paint . It requires diferent techniques but they both use the artists hand and creativity.
I have used many different mediums, graphite, charcoal, soft pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils, water color. Acrylic paint, alcoholic markers, and digital
I prefer Digital, why? Less material costs in the long run, no mess, and i prefer the smoother look.
That being said ....AI does not use the artist's hand or creativity. No writing a prompt is not your creativity. It is an idea but ideas do not always equal creavity.
"Girl with blue hair and purple eyes" is an idea but not creativity
Taking that idea and drawing the girl with a certain hairstyle you like, clothing, annexpression, how she holds herself, all with intention and purpose. Why did you give her that hair cut. What does her style say about her. What does that color pallete you use mean. It's all about applied ideas with purpose. AI cannot do that because it cannot think only rip apart art and smash it back together into a "new" image
