The autopilot doesn't break if you hold the accelerator. It says that on the screen... It can't and won't stop if you hold the pedal down, regardless of if autopilot is running. Knowing how the features work is key for safety. It's like expecting high beams to automatically turn off when you are intentionally keeping them on.
