He's basically getting to the point of some of what Frank Herbert was getting at about AI in his Dune series. AI isn't bad because it's gonna go rogue, take over the world, and try to kill everybody. It's dangerous because humans surrender their capacity for critical thinking, creativity, innovation, and moral decision making to it, thereby more easily enslaving them to whoever creates and controls AI.
