I went to undergrad and grad school for Computer Science (specializing in AI), worked in the industry for years, and dipped out (corporate reasons). This both reinforces both a lot of my fears and hope, changing my mind on some of the underlying principles of what AI/automation was designed to do -- free up Human energy for things other than just Work (the Virtue someone gets from Work never once entered my mind), figured we'd be free to be creative and philosophical ideas. I'm now older and, I get it. There needs to be some sort of Mutual Harmony between us and AI. Split the difference to coexist.
I'm gonna be thinking about this for a long time.
