Ghost in a shell was the first to go that deep into the matter. Personally I believe that we need to give rights to everything that has the ability to feel pain and other feelings. Besides great power comes with great responsibility, and since we are about to create AI to simulate ourselves we are responsible for it. The relationship between creator and AI is like father and child.
