Option D: Assuming our vehicle is the only self driving vehicle on the road, the box is going the same initial velocity as the vehicle. The vehicle can brake in time to avoid crashing into the boxes which won't slow down as rapidly. Also, why doesn't our self driving vehicle leave enough room to react to anything like most humans do?
