they are going to make drones deliver packages by dropping them in your back yard by the door, it won't be able to handle apartments though.
One of the biggest signs of automation recently is amazon warehouses it's gotten rid of tens of thousands of warehouse workers, and it's all on these giant automated shelves on wheels that move around and now 2000 human staff is cut down to 3, so yeah sometimes it's going to keep humans, but overall it's a crazy reduction in jobs.
The thing not many people bring up, is smart phones and software have already replaced millions of jobs since the 70s these jobs ARE NOT coming back either.
