Love it when American robot paranoia kicks in for an obviously beneficial not to mention at this point hypothetical "self-driving car". Unfortunately nobody realizes that there are incremental changes that one can make to eventually get to a fully automated car. Google's approach is all wrong. You can't sell a fully automated car in a market where hardly any of the driving is automated. The fact that we don't even have smart cruise control I think says something about American's willingness to give up automation for the "driving experience." There are some idiots who still thing a stick shift is still more efficient than automatic.
