She is just seeing the problem from only one perspective. Hardwares like webcam are so important as much as these algorithms. I'm not a black person and even my webcam sometimes doesn't recognize my face cause I would have a long hipster beard. She was trying to make this bias as political and racial as possible however science doesn't care about all these labels. To avoid over fitting simply look outside the box and stop blaming others.
