My advice is to use AI as an "assistant". I, as the engineer, am making the actual design decisions while the AI can give recommendations and its thoughts. I, as the engineer, will thoroughly review the code that is generated by AI and drive it towards scalable solutions because maintaining code still matters. For a junior, I think it's best to ensure that you really scrutinize and review any and all code that is generated by the agent. Also, you should start now with learning to take larger tasks and breaking them down into smaller components so that you can have the AI generate small amounts of code at a time. It makes reviewing less daunting and also keeps the AI focused on individual, smaller tasks. Just my two cents.
