Its not the tool people are scared of, its who is created the the tool and how they intend to use it that people are wary of. You want people to not fear A.I.? Don't hold press conferences telling people that it's gonna replace thier likelihoods, NOT give them anything comparable to take its place, and say its inevitable so they should just accept it. Don't tell us not to fear A.I., and then immediately turn around and sign military contracts with an administration widely viewed as cruel and corrupt to supply them with system that determine who lives and dies via an *algorithm* At best you look woefully naive and out of touch, at worst you're sociopathically trolling the poor. Neither's a good look.
