Yup, found that out last year when my shitty boss invented a bullshit reason to fire my coworker (he was really firing her because she called him incompetent to his face). Even though we had a bunch of shit documented, HR didn't care, they automatically sided with the manager, who had nothing documented because his entire case was bullshit. Also... we're union, but the union rolled over and played dead even though a grievance rep from a different union was horrified and said they'd have filed multiple grievances. Fuck AFSCME, they're almost as bad as HR.
