Many people confuse gen z with these though, many (including in this very thread) think gen z grew up with current social media full of brainrot, when most of gen z, especially current adults, didn't at all, and the ones that were early on the internet grew up with a more year 2000 style internet (I consider the biggest shift in how the internet operated once most services shipped very agressive algorithms similar to tiktok, which happened relatively recently, if you look at facebook, instagram, youtube, it all stayed fairly similar from the beginning up until that point, gen z born close to the year 2000 had time to be in an internet still full of forums and dominated by youtube, early style social medias), which I think is very funny, because it means they don't understand the observations made regarding gen z are probably not related to youth exposure, but an overall change in how people consume and connect with each other right now, which thus affects everyone from all generation.
