I don't think that happens easily. The way technology is - esp social media - is that every one of our feeds is carved out specifically for our demographic. AI, however, is changing that so our feeds are designed for us. Specifically us. I relate this even to TV. Growing up, pretty much everyone watched DBZ and the Simpsons (if your parents allowed it). Or, everyone played Pokemon. Etc. As fads changed, most everyone partook in them, or you sat out and bonded with the other poor kids. I know that sounds like irrelevant old person shit, but there was one feed that we were all experiencing. That's oversimplifying it, but now it's like none of the shit I watch is what my friends are watching. It might take 5+ times, maybe even 5 separate people to tell me to check something out before I do. There's just too much. Too much to choose from. And the algorithms are constantly tracking us individually. All that to say, the trajectory of this is not that we magically become more social. You gotta build those bridges before you lose them, or they will probably not be rebuilt. Why compromise when you can do exactly what you want, whenever you want?
