There is another alternative here. When I heard Disney was interested in AI, my first thought was ways it could be deployed in their theme parks. After all, Disney makes far more in profit off their vacation destinations than their films, so many of their high-level decisions are driven by the parks. Plus the pubilc would likely be more accepting of AI in a theme park than a theater. I was imagining, say, a guest contacting customer service and interacting with an AI-powered version of their favorite princess. Or using it to create commemorative videos inserting guests into movie scenes. Film them swinging a lightsaber around in front of a greenscreen, then AI-generate a fight with Kylo Ren that matches their movements. That kind of thing.
