There are only thousands of robotaxis in the world today, but in eighteen months that number may be 100,000+, and then around 2030 or so, on its way to millions. Many countries have weathered unemployment rates at 10-20% for considerable periods, but the US consumer economy can't. Especially when everyone knows there is no going back to what was before, that this is now the new permanent state of affairs. The world adapted to Covid pretty damn quick in March 2020; I suspect the same can happen again when it has to adapt to the new economy AI & robots are creating.
